Since 2001, I’ve been working with string musicians from every walk of life as a self employed craftsman.

Classical players from symphonies and quartets, teachers and professors, students and families, fiddlers and mariachi players, jazz and experimental artists - all are welcome! I’ve learned so much from my clients and I am deeply thankful.

My expertise is in bows for string instruments. Yes I’ve made violins when I was at the Chicago School of Violin Making and I repair and sell instruments that I’ve bought at auction in Europe, but my real specialty in with bows.

I offer same day rehairs - all bows are $100 - but I do much more. I’m comfortable with any repair or restoration that a bow might need from a thumbgrip or wrap to a bushing or spline. I’m also happy to help you with a camber adjustment or a general consultation if you are having challenging issues with your favorite bow.

I also offer a select number of vintage bows and instruments for sale.

I believe in the essential role of the craftsperson and the art of small business. Through skill and labor, constant learning and growing, I find myself 25 years later in a field that still challenges me, allows me to participate actively in the arts, where I can help my clients, and ground myself in an increasingly uncertain world through the essential human experience of manual labor.
